Fantasy First All-Star Team

Here is the first of my series on the top fantasy players, sleepers, and busts by position this season. Each of these teams are set to resemble a starting lineup (1 G, 2 D, 1 LW, 1 C, 1 RW), so you could say this lineup has been created in the spirit of the First All-Star Team that is announced at the NHL Awards show every season.
I will post shortly a similar lineup from my good friend Chris Wassel of The Program. He also has a few bonuses in his article that I think you will enjoy.

Fantasy Hockey/Kukla’s Korner League Midterm Report
by Ian Gooding on 01/26/12 at 03:56 AM ET

Let’s study the secrets of the success of… a third-place team.
Okay, so it’s not first place. But it is a 16-team league. And a team that has rattled off ten consecutive wins in head-to-head league competition, following three consecutive losses to start the season.
There is probably no better time than the All-Star break to assess the situation of your fantasy team. That is what I intend to do while I provide my midterm report for the fantasyhockey.com/Kukla’s Korner League midterm results.

Pick Six: Tuesday October 18
by Ian Gooding on 10/17/11 at 05:00 PM ET

Tuesday is the next busy day on the NHL schedule, with ten games on tap. Since all teams have played at least three games, we can finally see the early blueprints of our season. There are some interesting names at the top of the NHL scoring race (David Legwand, anyone?), but players like the Sedins and Anze Kopitar are no strangers to the top ten in scoring. Since I am concentrating on players that are starting the season quickly, there will not be any sits for Tuesday’s Pick Six – only starts.

First Draft of the Year
by Ian Gooding on 09/26/11 at 11:00 AM ET

My first single-season league draft of the season came and went on Sunday, and I wasn’t a participant. (Okay, my alibi was that I promised to go to Costco and also take my two-year-old son out on his tricycle during the time of my draft – pretty lame, I know.) In spite of my domestic responsibilities, I do plan on attending at least one live draft this season, which will likely be the fantasyhockey.com/Kukla’s Korner League, where I am the commissioner.
