The Devils Case To Be A Contender In The Atlantic
by David Pavlak on 10/03/11 at 06:45 PM ET

Since the New Jersey Devils have just wrapped up their final preseason game, it is time to take a look into the regular season crystal ball. With the outlook of the team, I don’t see how the Devils could miss the playoffs, and further more not be contenders for the Atlantic Division. I will provide a team breakdown, and offer my opinion on how the Devils could possibly walk away with the victories.

Adam Larsson Makes Devils Roster
by David Pavlak on 09/30/11 at 05:15 PM ET

After the Devils lost to the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center, head coach Peter DeBoer talked positvely about how often and how many minutes he plans on using Adam Larsson on a game by game basis, which all but locks up the notion that Larsson will be on the New Jersey Devils roster at the beginning of the regular season.
Larsson, who has shown he has the capacity to handle the NHL workload throughout the preseason, will be a vital defensive member on the blue line in order to try to help the Devils back to their regular winning ways.

“Triple PPP” line brewing for Devils?
by David Pavlak on 09/27/11 at 02:50 PM ET

Triple PPP you might ask? Easy. Parise, Patrik, Petr.
This line looks like it could be taking the ice for the first regular season game as the number one line. This line also has the chance to provide quite a few goals. Just like Jaromir Jagr is showing in Philadelphia, age is nothing but a number. Petr Sykora is right on tap with the current NHL stars when it comes to scoring. With Elias and Parise joining him on a line, he could easily find the opportunity to bury the puck in the net quite a few times this year.

Devils Look Dangerous, Even In Defeat
by David Pavlak on 09/24/11 at 12:05 PM ET

Even though the Devils fell to the Rangers in the waning minutes, there were many positives signs to take out of this game.
The play of Adam Larsson, Adam Henrique, Ilya Kovalchuk, Jacob Josefson and the rest of the Devils left a sign of things to come on the ice. The play was physical, quick and made the Devils look like a really impressive hockey team. Unfortunately, the Rangers came back with a good gang of guys tonight on the ice at The Rock, and were able to snag the victory with time winding down in the third.

Devils Grab Overtime Victory From Rangers
by David Pavlak on 09/22/11 at 01:45 AM ET

The Devils took on the Rangers tonight, and played well enough to walk away with a win. Potential captain Patrik Elias potted the decisive goal seconds into the overtime period after Zach Parise collected a wild pass from a Steve Eminger of the Rangers and got it to Elias at the right time.
Stephane Veilleux of the Devils and Andre Deveaux of the Rangers received 10 minute game misconducts each for fighting and instigating. Veilleux was unsuccessful in goating Sean Avery into a fight.

Possible Starting Lines, Clarkson And Sykora Looking To Make A Splash
by David Pavlak on 09/19/11 at 11:10 PM ET

Right off the bat, head coach Peter DeBoer liked what he saw when Patrik Elias and Zach Parise took the ice together on the first line. His eyes had to of gotten bigger when he saw Ilya Kovalchuk and Jacob Josefson run the second line of offense. Barring any major injuries, the Devils could be boasting a pretty nice looking offensive unit this coming season.
