Can Adam Henrique Help Save The Devils During Time of Injury?
by David Pavlak on 11/06/11 at 05:50 PM ET

The injury bug hasn’t been kind to the New Jersey Devils this season. After Travis Zajac had to undergo Achilles surgery during the off season, the center position already took a pretty big hit. In steps Jacob Josefson. His performance on the ice during training camp was admirable and looked to be a positive for the Devils as they were searching to fill a pretty big hole in the roster. After an awkward fall into the boards, Josefson broke his clavicle and will now be out for an extended period of time as he rehabs back to one-hundred percent. Adam Henrique would be the next name to step into the ranks of the Devils and so far he has shown some glimpse of hope that he could possibly end up being a future leader for this team.

Devils Inching Closer to Bankruptcy
by David Pavlak on 11/04/11 at 05:35 PM ET

From Mike Ozanian of Forbes
“Vanderbeek already missed a $100 million principal payment that was due Sept. 1. He was given an extension by the lenders in order to try and raise enough money to buy out co-owners Ray Chambers and Mike Gilfillan, but they wanted no part of it. Vanderbeek can buy some time because technically the team cannot be forced into bankruptcy by creditors until after the Stanley Cup finals. But the longer he holds onto the team the bigger the debt problem because he is not making interest payments.”

Brodeur Returns; Zajac Skates
by David Pavlak on 11/02/11 at 04:15 PM ET

For the first time since injuring his shoulder against the Los Angeles Kings, Martin Brodeur will step back between the pipes to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at “The Rock” tonight.
“I’m looking forward to it,’’ Brodeur said after today’s morning skate. “It’s been a long time for me. Even in the season, I’ve only played one (full) game, so I never got any momentum going as far as my game’s concerned. The team is playing well, not getting any points, lately, so we’re going to definitely try to get to that right now.’‘

First Travis Zajac was sidelined after requiring surgery to fix his Achilles. Now the Devils were be without their second top centerman in Jacob Josefson after he crashed into the end boards in the first period during the Devils 4-3 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks. The angle and impact that Josefson made with the boards broke his clavicle and he will be out for the next 3-4 months in order to fully recover.

Devils To Honor Michael “Doc” Emrick, Brodeur Update
by David Pavlak on 10/19/11 at 04:30 PM ET
Comments (2)
Little has been said about a status update surrounding Devils goalie Martin Brodeur. He has already met with the team doctor, and Lou Lamoriello said that Brodeur was “status-quo.” Not exactly the most uplifting words to hear. Brodeur has already been ruled out of Fridays game against the Sharks. Once again the Devils turn to Johan Hedberg to rally the troops in search of another win. The Devils will have Keith Kinkaid on the bench as a backup.

Martin Brodeur will be out the next 7-10 days with an injured shoulder. He will not require surgery.

Martin Brodeur Travels With Team After Injuring Shoulder
by David Pavlak on 10/14/11 at 04:45 PM ET
Comments (0)
Seeing Martin Brodeur skate off the ice bent over in pain was the last thing that the Devils wanted to see last night.
After making a diving save in the first period against the Los Angeles Kings, Brodeur injured his shoulder. He finished out the first period, but was replaced by Johan Hedberg when the team came out of the dressing room to start the second period. Brodeur sat on the bench and watched the rest of the game with the team. He is currently listed as day-to-day and will travel with the team to Nashville as they prepare to take on the Predators. It looks like even though he is traveling with the team, Hedberg will most likely get the start.

Can An Offensive Showcase Push Devils Back Into Playoffs?
by David Pavlak on 10/11/11 at 03:24 PM ET
Comments (2)
After last years disappointing season, the Devils are quickly trying to turn the page. Head coach Peter DeBoer is trying to help keep the past stay in the past. After the Devils opened the season with a 3-0 loss, however, the whispers started to begin that the Devils were no better then last years shaky squad. With the emergence of a healthy Zach Parise teamed up with the powerhouse scoring ability of Ilya Kovalchuk and the dynamic on ice ability of Patrik Elias, can the Devils make it back into the playoffs on nothing more then offense?

Parise and Devils Fall to Flyers
by David Pavlak on 10/09/11 at 05:25 PM ET

With the first game of the New Jersey Devils season under their belt, it is time to take a look at the game and analyze how to move forward from here.
With all the hype surrounding the return of Zach Parise and the Devils, everything seemed to fall flat on the ice when it came time to make things happen. The Devils would eventually fall 3-0, and look outplayed the whole way through.
