Mike Halford at Orland Kurtenblog, he rates it:
On the pro side, the track is undoubtedly original and loaded with past and present Canucks references (plus the Torres joke that took me like an hour to get.)
On the con side, Barry Wilkins is spelled wrong (although that should be offset by the fact there are lyrics about Barry Wilkins.) There’s also a Dave Pratt/Ursula reference that is either the greatest or worst line in the history of rap.
Is it destined to be a hit? It does have a few great lines in there, actually. But someone might want to get some video going featuring half-naked chicks shaking their business before it hits Much Music—maybe then it`ll have a chance.
(As long as Nick KyprEos doesn`t co-opt it as his own and start shaking HIS business, I`m okay with whatever. Strangely, the tune is sorta growing on me.)
Note: Halford previously posted this earlier video submission to lackluster reviews. Compare and enjoy. (Or scream and run away. Whatever you gotta do!)
