How to Fight Like a Hockey Player

Two days ago, I suffered my first concussion. Appropriately, the injury was highly-related to the forces of both hockey and beer the night of the Wild/Canucks game, but to tell you more details than that would prove levels of personal stupidity I’d rather keep to myself. Sorry.
Bottom line: I lost a fight with a large slab of cement.
So now I have a whole new appreciation for concussion injuries. There’s not a square inch of my body that doesn’t hurt, plus my intellectual capacities were on par with a 6 year old for the first 24 hours. (And geez, you sure don’t want to know what my face looks like right now…)
Anyway, in honor of this event, check out this video—a demonstration by former Maple Leaf Scott Pearson, “How to Win a Hockey Fight.”
I intend to win my next bout, dammit.

About Canucks and Beyond
Alanah McGinley has been blogging hockey since 2003 (with a notable gap in time through 2010, kicking it with new baby Lucy while living knee-deep in chaos while reading "parenting for complete idiots" during every spare minute) sharing opinions, rants and not-so-deep thoughts with anyone who will listen.
In addition to writing Canucks & Beyond and helping manage Kukla's Korner, Alanah was one of the founders and co-hosts of The Crazy Canucks Podcast. She has contributed pieces to FoxSports.com and the New York Times Slapshot blog, as well as other stray destinations in cyberspace.
