How Canucks GM Rumors Start

From Elliott Pap at the Vancouver Sun:
Gino Odjick is a friend of Vancouver Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini, but the former NHL enforcer insisted yesterday he is not being consulted in the search for a new general manager.
“It’s just a bad rumour,” said Odjick, whose name was bandied about on national TV as a member of Aquilini’s advisory committee. “I’m not involved at all. Yes, we’re friends, just friends, but he hasn’t called me to ask what he should do.”
That’s because I’ve just heard from a very reliable source that Gino Odjick is actually the Aquilinis’ true target for the position. If all goes as expected, Odjick may be named to the Vancouver Canucks GM post as early as Wednesday morning.
(And THAT, my friends, is how stupid hockey rumors get started…) ![]()
Anyway, the choices being bandied about so far (in no particular order) are: Mike Gillis, Brian Lawton, Jim
Gill
Nill, Trevor Linden, Pat Quinn, Doug Armstrong, Bob Nicholson, Steve Tambellini, Neil Smith…
That’s all I can remember at the moment. Got any rumors of your own to spread?
Update 7:18pm PT: Canucks GM has been named tonight.
