Hershey (42-23-2-5) trails first place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by 10 points in the East Division, with Norfolk (35-19-8-6) and Charlotte (38-25-2-6) seven points behind in third. (The Admirals sit third, technically, with three games in hand on the Checkers.)
Rochester (30-33-3-3) remains last in the Western Conference’s North Division, 11 points behind sixth place Abbotsford and 15 points out of playoff contention. At 36-26-3-6, Chicago ranks fifth in the West Division and, thanks to the AHL’s crossover rule, is currently in playoff position with a two-point edge over the North’s fourth-place squad, Hamilton.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
‘Twas a bit of an unspectacular week, in terms of individual performances, quite possibly because the Charlotte Checkers (four) and Hershey Bears (three) were the only teams in our focus group to have played more than twice during the applicable time span. Nevertheless, Hershey’s Brian Willsie gets top recognition this week for his two-goal, five-point performance in a trio of games for the Bears. Patrick McNeill was also solid for Hershey, tallying once and assisting three other times and Kyle Greentree managed three goals. Charlotte’s Chris Terry (3-1-4) also gets a secondary tip o’ the cap.
UNTIL NEXT TIME
