Southeast AHL Affiliate Stats Pack: 3/15/11

Changing the name of this weekly installment one last time, more than anything, to reflect exactly what it is: A stats pack. Ergo, I think Southeast AHL Affiliate Stats Pack will work just fine from now on.

Rochester (30-31-3-3) remains last in the Western Conference’s North Division, seven points behind sixth place Abbotsford and 13 points out of playoff contention. At 35-25-3-6, Chicago ranks fifth in the West Division and, thanks to the AHL’s crossover rule, is currently in playoff position with a three-point edge over the North’s fourth-place squad, Lake Erie.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

It’s been a rough go for his club for most of the season (and this week was no walk in the park either) but Rochester Americans forward Mike Kostka earns the latest Player of the Week honors after lighting it up to the tune of three goals and seven points in three games last week. The Amerks dropped two of the three, unfortunately, despite solid production from Kostka, Patrick Rissmiller (2-3-5) and Chris Taylor (four assists). Norfolk Admirals goaltender Dustin Tokarski is this week’s runner-up, with a flawless 3-0 record, a 1.95 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in three wins for the Ads. Hershey’s Nolan Schaefer (1-1-2, 1.93, .925) and Chicago’s Edward Pasquale (2-0-1, 2.22, .918) also shined in nets for their respective clubs. Others deserving mentions: Norfolk’s Mark Barberio (2-2-4), Alex Berry (1-3-4), Matt Fornataro (four helpers), Johan Harju (2-3-5) and James Wright (4-1-5); Hershey’s Kyle Greentree (3-2-5) and Brian Willsie (1-3-4); and Chicago’s Jason Krog (1-3-4) and Arturs Kulda (1-3-4).
