Yep, Yankee Fans, That Was The Ship’s Bell and It Just Rang For The 29th Time

I know.  Hockey's so close to being back. So tantalizingly close so that all the #stopthelockoutbeforeienditall hashtaggers can claim their victory.

Uh huh.

Let me know when it's over.

In the present?

There's a bone to be chewed and a skate to be pressed firmly down on some Yankee throats, and those are some throats that can't get much tighter.

Get us there Max.

Live Blog the Tigers, bitches.  They're the only team Mike owns that's allowed to play, and playing well they are.

I don’t like baseball personally, but I will say go Tigers. It would be huge for Detroit and surrounding areas well being, so im all for that. But I gotta say GO LIONS! We have a chance to even the record up to 3-3 by pounding those damned Bears. Lets get it done boys!

Went to have lunch at a sort-of biker bar here in Vegas called “Road Runner Saloon.”  I had a badass, 1/2-lb bacon cheeseburger just killing the time before I pick up my dad from his eye surgery (don’t worry, he’s doing great right now).  The saloon has two HUGE 88-inch screen LED TVs.  One was broadcasting EPL football from England and the other was on ESPN.  I should have asked to flip the damn channel from ESPN because those goofy talking peckerheads whined about why A-Rod is being benched.  Not a word about the Tigers at all.  I can almost guarantee that should the Tigers sweep the Yanks out of the playoffs, not one word in their already shitty broadcast will be about the Tigers.  It will be one looooong whine about the decline of the Yankees and how if Jeter were playing, it would’ve been a lot different ALCS.

Guaran-fuching-tee it…

Go Tigers.

I should have logged on here last night and known that you would be LBing the game.  Alas, no game.  Hopefully today as I’ll be stuck at work watching a little cartoon figure of a batter.

You know, and yes I’ll freely admit, I’m a SF Giants fan first, Tigers fan second…

But still, I hope the Tigers sweep the damnYankees and ESPN (or ESP-AL East-N) whines about it all night. That makes the sweep all that much more sweet.

Wow.  I mean, wow.  I’m going to miss that guy.

Nice to see the Yankee fans desert the ship as usual.  Ilitch is a great owner.  Only wish he’d buy the Mets.  LOL

Scherzer was lights out—totally outpitched the Yankers’ ace—and the bats really came alive today.  As I mentioned on BYB today, being a lifelong Red Wing and Tiger fan, after all he’s done for Detroit sports, I really want this one for Mike Ilitch. It just seems right.

Go Tigers!!!

Wow, never thought there would be a sweep, but I’ll take it.  This is great, I like their chances.  As much as I love the wings, the tigers were my first team, been watching since the late 80’s.  Living in a rural area we didn’t get hockey broadcasts at all, but baseball was on once a week or so.  And I was only 2 in 84, so they have sucked pretty much my whole life.  I want this.

.....hey bent, are you from rudyard ???....i thought i saw that somewhere…my mom’s family is from there….the dowds…or chadwicks…or mc dowells….or lovelesses…or malaskas…any of those names ring a bell ??

....i realize this may not be the proper forum for this, but rudyard michigan is not a name i hear often enough….my uncle bud was a bulldog shortstop drafted by the tigers in the fifties…..they had this guy named kuehn at the time, so my uncle chose the marines, instead….

I am indeed, lived there my whole life (other than college years.)  And yes I have heard most of those family names.  My family is more from the north part, the dutch settlement.  Great place, and I don’t think I will ever leave.

Not many people would make the UP a place on their bucket lists, but Porcupine Mountains and Calumet are pretty damn high on mine.  Hopefully, by summer 2014 after getting my MCC, I’ll make that come true.
