Wing Fans: Settle Down, Give Hiller “His Props” And Blame It On Fashion

I’m sure the reaction will be wide, varied and explosive today.  After six hours I’ve mellowed a bit.

Worse call than the ‘99 fiasco.  Completely reflective of the incompetence that surrounds the Bettman regime like a pathetic cloud of horrendous body odor that can’t be scrubbed, washed, sprayed or prayed away.  Oh, and the excuses are already starting from the bone-jobs who claim to represent NHL officials.

Khan(!)

McGuire indicated Watson might have lost sight of the puck because of Anaheim’s uniform colors.

“A combination of the black puck and the black pants may have been a factor,’’ McGuire said. “But when he didn’t see the puck, he blew the whistle.’‘

Not Pierre, but I see how you could be confused.  That’s E.J. McGuire, the “series manager and spokesman for officials.”

Awesome. That is so fu**ing perfect.  Only in the NHL can we blame uniform colors on such a shitbag call.  Only in the NHL will we bend over and take this as “just part of the game.”

Oh, but don’t forget.  Hiller played great.  And despite one of the worst calls in hockey history we should—-vomit first because I didn’t know adults actually said this—”give Hiller his props.”

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
