from Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press,
Dylan Larkin has a new nickname for linemate Anthony Mantha.
Larkin, Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi form the Detroit Red Wings’ first and funniest line, fostering speed, grit and power. They dominated the season opener, scoring first and last in the 5-3 victory over the Nashville Predators Saturday at Bridgestone Arena.
Mantha made it 2-0 midway through the first period when he picked up the puck in his own zone and strode up the middle, splitting defenders in his way.
“The flying Frenchman,” Larkin said with a laugh. “He was in the air and everything.
“He was moving his feet. It was a great goal, one of the best I’ve seen him score. When he moves his feet like that, he’s hard to stop.”

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
