Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet,

When they looked about out of gas, the Vancouver Canucks stomped on the accelerator Tuesday and blew the doors off the Detroit Red Wings.

Playing their fourth road game in six nights and trailing by two going into the third period, the Canucks poured in five goals to beat the Red Wings 5-2 and win for the sixth time in seven National Hockey League games.

Blashill says no update on DeKeyser and depending on what happens with waivers, he told Ericsson to go to Grand Rapids and play great.

He needs to play some games, hasn’t played since March.

First game back from a road trip is always tough, is that the excuse I used to hear?

But the wings had…2, 3 days off? No excuse to run out of gas when Vancouver played 4 in 6.

Atrocious.

Also pathetic to play Svech just 7:28. Does mgmt really think that little of him? You cant replace someone, anyone, on 2nd or 3rd line? The ones that havent freaking scored all season?

If there aren’t discussions taking place regarding the benching, waiving, or buying out of Filpulla, Abby, and Nielsen .....then Stevie should be fired for dereliction of duties as GM…...

No buyouts allowed until June DRD, so don’t hold your breath for that

Who’s job was it to have the team prepared for last night after 3 or 4 days off? Management thought highly enough of svech to bring him back and waive shitbox, who was in charge of what line he played on and how much time he got?

It’s only 9 games into a season with basically no expectations, but you’re taking note as am I to the curious decisions of the bald one.

WOW, that was quick, people are already turning on Stevie Y? We are 9 games in. This team is exactly what was expected. A couple talented guys surround with 0 talent. This is going to take time, at least another 3 years.

I will however say this, to me, there is a huge difference in terms of defensive play compared to last season. It may not be showing record-wise, but I’m seeing better puck management in their own end. There isn’t as much of panic and throw the puck away plays.

I hate to say it, but I miss Vanek. At least he resembled a top 6 forward.

I don’t, but I’d rather they re-signed him than signing Filppula.

Hey, at least it’s an improvement on calling him up to sit in the press box for a week, not playing in any NHL or AHL games during that time.

Less than 10 minutes and no opportunities on the PP. We’re supposed to believe that the unit with Nielsen and Abdelkader on it can’t be improved upon?

Weren’t there people already about to turn on him for the Filppula signing?

I agree it’s too early to be calling for Yzermans head but Fillapoolup has not looked good at all. It may take time for him to adjust to Blashill and new teammates, hopefully that is all that it is. But if his game is not better by December than this signing looks useless.

Regarding Chevy’s usage is spot-on. I liked his energy and tenacity. I would rather seen him on the second PP unit then just about anyone else. I think it would be impossible to fair any worse than that comedy of errors.

Danny going down definitely change the look and feel of the D

I am not and would not and will not defend that dumb signing, but it’s hardly something to get up in arms about. We know why he did it and it shouldn’t adversely affect the future in any appreciable way.
