Wings sign Dominic Turgeon for a year.

I enjoyed the FSD guys talking Wings Hockey, even if for just a few minutes. Been a loooonnnnggg Summer….

Turgeon resign is just a AHL filling roster move. Not likely to see him in detroit unless a ton of injuries.

Anyone else think Stevie would/could put together the #4 pick with other assets if Winnipeg is looking to unload Laine..???

I’d say yes DRD to Laine, heck he is only 22 but I don’t think the Wings have what the Jets want, a #1-2 dman.

Let’s say the trade is made though, Yzerman would have to go find a center for him, a set up man first, then scorer.

I’ve always like Trevor Thompson and enjoy his takes but the only member of this panel whose opinion means anything to me is Daniels.

It was cool to see the guys have some coffee talk.  They should make this a regular thing.

Hope we’ve got at least a poor man’s Laine in

Laine sold maybe a little lower than his true ability
is intriguing. But the two things Winnipeg needs:
a second line center and a top pairing D are crying needs of
our own.

Curious if Columbus can put together a package.
They’re short a true second line center, too, however.
And have plenty of depth on D. I’m sure they’d move
Murray and perhaps Nutivaara. But Murray is so injury prone.
And Nutivaara hasn’t been the same since Kucherov intentionally
ran his head into the boards at the end of a loss. I’m sure Winnipeg would
want Savard plus. And Savard is such a heart and soul defender especially for
the playoffs. And Columbus is short on picks, too.

It was great to watch the guys. I figured the Red Wings will draft Jamie Drysdale, but Yzerman does the unexpected, so probably no. LOL

I wonder if Montreal can do a Domi ++ deal for Laine?  Although they are rumored to really want Hall.
Could Domi revive his career as a second line C in winnipeg.  Im not sure what D prospects they have they could move either….

There was already a rumor circulating that Montreal was trying. Reportedly they were offering their first, a defensive prospect and Domi for Laine. I think Winnipeg is looking for a more significant D upgrade. But perhaps Winnipeg could trade that 1st (or their own) for that upgrade. They need NHL players not draft picks at this point.

Maybe Cale Fleury or Noah Juulsen (if fully healthy)

Winnipeg could probably use a bigger, sturdier player
than Victor Mete.

With Edmundson and Romanov on the team Montreal could
afford to deal a defenseman who is ready to play now.
I’m assuming Winnipeg had trouble re-signing Chiarot
- he’d be pretty useful to them right now.
