Two Word - Win Again

Paul here for Bill...

Now that the Nyquist fiasco is over with, we don't have to worry about any more roster moves until DeKeyser returns or someone else gets hurt.

So we will deal with that when the time comes, meanwhile, how does 2 wins in a row sound?

Now is the time for the Wings to put a nice winning streak together and move on up in the Eastern Conference standings.

On a positive note, the line of Franzen, Nyquist and Helm has some promise and I believe it all depends on what type of "Mule" shows up.

On the negative side, can we say Dan Cleary?

Babcock will start the game again with Cleary, Datsyuk and Bertuzzi but I wonder how long Cleary will remain with that line until we see someone like Tatar moving up?

Play a full game boys and win, again.

It's a live blog bitches!

Franzen gets his knee whacked from behind and it’s fine?

Don’t forget that the same thing happened to Helm at center ice and nobody saw it.

There are no words.

Are you serious?  Slashes to the back of a guy’s legs and elbows to the head are not part of hockey.

Posted by MsRedWinger from Flori-duh on 11/23/13 at 09:55 PM ET

But people wishing out loud that we had a goon or Tootoo in the lineup tonight to respond is different?

And I agree on the Pavel elbow thing, but the slashes to the back of the leg are commonplace when you play.

If the Wings were capitalizing on power play opportunities Ottawa would probably back off.

You didn’t see me saying that.  And slashes to the back of the legs are NOT supposed to happen.

Come on, Jimmy! I know you’ve got two forwards on top of your ass because the defense has chosen to play soft and out from the net, but what the heck. You make as much money as Ville Leino, you should stop everything.

Man, did they let this game get away from them. I’ll be pissed the rest of the night.

Fair enough, but I wasn’t speaking to you specifically. smile

The real horsecrap stuff from Cowan is garbage, but all the scrappiness and hard hitting and in-your-face attitude is something that Detroit has to handle.

It sure beats a blank. The one element missing is the tough guy. Be it one or two. And I was being sarcastic about the Goon.

Blame the zebras all you want, but the Wings had three lengthy 5-on-3’s and didn’t do dick. It’s not like the Wings were robbed … they had plenty of chances to absolutely bury Ottawa tonight and didn’t do dick.

Wings wouldn’t be getting hammered so much defending their own end if we had D who could move the puck. And having D that can advance the puck would help greatly with the secondary scoring problem too.

I don’t understand why people have trouble with this concept.  D getting the puck out of the zone is absolutely vital to a team with forwards like Detroit’s.

Well, yes, obviously.  I never said the zebras cost the Wings the game.  I simply can’t stand goonery that goes unseen and unpunished.

So tomorrow the Wings play the worst team in the NHL?  Uh oh.

Think I’ll take tomorrow off.  Go out for a nice dinner with my hubby.  Drink a lot.

Yes he does. But, we did have enough chances and let them slip through our fingers. The team as a whole, with the onus on Babcock, needs to get it together.

change Jerseys ...obviously there is an agenda ...  most likely passed down from Butthead*  ... one set of rules for any of the teams the Red Wings play ... “let them do what ever they want to the Wings players”  Watch closely what they do to Pav and Z and no calls are made and it only seems to be certain refs.

The Detroit Red Wings will be without center Pavel Datsyuk when they visit the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday due to a possible concussion.
