Sale of Shanny’s Soul Is Final

Brendan Shanahan, you are nothing more than Gary Bettman’s bitch.  You’ve sold out to The Agenda and you’re wrapped in a soiled nighty made of hypocrisy.

How do you spew the wholesome all year? How do you get in front of the cameras where you’ve always pined to be and literally claim that head shots are the number 1 priority of your office…and then fine Shea Weber $2,500 for what he did, with two hands, to Hank Zetterberg’s head?

When Shanahan was directed by the midget commissioner, the absolute worst in all of sports, to swallow hard and continue the Anti-Wing campaign Bettman’s soaped himself in for more than a decade, he should have quit.  He knew it. We know it. Everyone in hockey (fans, writers, execs) all know it: this decision was as laughable as it was predictable.

You’re nothing more than an establishment tool, Shanny.  Once the guy “who saved hockey” with the way you changed the game and helped end Bettman’s lockout, you are now just another ball-in-the-mouth bitch of Lil Gary, with his fake hockey towns and his fake hockey loyalty.

And here we are, every one of us. Bitching about it like we’re shocked.  Spitting and sputtering…just beside ourselves that the Wings have been screwed again.

We’re worse than Shanahan and Bettman.  They’re insidious. We’re just dumb for sticking around.

Once again, for the hundredth time, I’m embarrassed to be a hockey fan.

Shanahan, you frigging toad.  When that little gimp told you a suspension just wouldn’t do? You should have slapped him with an open hand, walked out and gone straight to the first microphone you saw. You should have said you’d been directed to levy a fine when a suspension was the only decision consistent with what you’ve done all year.  You should have quit.  Your credibility is lower than his now.

Oh, you don’t think Bettman whispered in Shanny’s ear? You don’t think this was discussed down at Gary’s 4-foot level?  Bitch, please.  This was all Bettman.  Shanny’s nothing more than the dirty-mouthed spokesman who made the announcement.  Shanny’s Fredo Corleone. No power. No singular thought.  No respect.

Strong work, Shanny.  Strong work.  You sold your soul to a dwarf laughing stock.

If any of you still have a #14 Shanny jersey, may I respectfully suggest that you douse it in gasoline and set it ablaze. And post the vid on youtube, please.

If I ever got a few minutes alone with the Cup, I’d scratch outthe three ocurrences of Shanny’s name .

He is a worthless piece of sh!t

If II were Ilitch, I have him struck from any highlights shown on the jumbotron, get rid of any pics lurking around the rink and banish him from all mentions on the website.

It’s funny how everyone outside of Detroit thought he would be biased in favor of the Wings, when in fact just the opposite is true. He played two seasons with Z. Did Z sleep with his girlfriend or something?

i said something to the tune that Babbles is to blame for Helm’s injury that made people laughing and shaking their heads. Let me re-phrase for you what I was trying to say:
Had Helm not been playing in game 1 as initially planned, he would have been healthy and better prepared now for game 2. And to rush him in and put him onto the lineup for game 1 was Babbles’ decision.
From years past I learned that when making a decision there is always two possible ways: a Right Way and a Wrong Way. If you choose a Wrong Way, even unknowingly, sooner or later it will come around and bite you in the ass. It’s called karma. When Babbles announced his decision to put Helm in because he looked good to him at the practice, I knew right away that he was pressing things and not going with the Right Way. You may laugh and call it metaphysical but it is what it is and has been proven over and over again. It is an unwritten law of nature, of sorts.

Alex?  you do know that Helm is out because his wrist was from a cut from a Preds skate in game 1,  it had nothing to do with his injury he was out for so how is it Babs fault???

I didn’t think anything could detract from the major issue at hand, but you’ve succeeded.  The day before Game 1 Babcock stated that “Helm will let me know when he’s ready to play.”  This was primarily Helm’s decision, and it looked to be a good one.

JFC man, stop the witch hunt, and get back on the real witch hunt the rest of us are on.

Burning Shanahan at the stake?

I’m not even surprised, but am disappointed after listening to Shanahan’s BS all season whenever he sentenced someone about how they were trying to protect defenseless players from hits to the head.

He has no integrity left and is as much a shill as the rest of NHL, Inc.

It may not be acceptable to Mr. I now, but yes I think we should try to sign Weber.

Instead of burning the #14 jerseys, everyone should take a shit and piss on em’. Then mail those bitches back to Shanny. After he receives them all, we can commence burning him and using his shit/piss jerseys as the kindling.

Mission Control activated!

NHL executive Colin Campbell said Thursday that linesman Tony Sericolo erred in not whistling the play dead for offsides before Danny Briere’s first goal in Game 1 of the Penguins-Flyers series.

“There’s no other way to explain it but a missed call,” the NHL’s senior executive vice president of hockey operations told The Canadian Press. “We’re as upset as Pittsburgh, almost. It’s a mistake.”

Mistake rectified shall be in the coming games!

In other news - Nike in for Helm:

Valterri Filppula-Henrik Zetterberg-Jiri Hudler
Johan Franzen-Pavel Datsyuk-Todd Bertuzzi
Nyquist-Justin Abdelkader-Danny Cleary
Miller-Cory Emmerton-Tomas Holmstrom

Nicklas Lidstrom-Jonathan Ericsson
Niklas Kronwall-Brad Stuart
Kyle Quincey-Ian White

Jimmy Howard

Why Moose keeps his place on the 2 line - - baffles me.

Back to the Weber disgrace.

Usually I find Drew Sharp useless when it comes to his musings on the Wings, so I’ll hand him some props for this:

It’s ridiculous that all Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber gets for his cowardly attack against a defenseless Henrik Zetterberg in the final seconds of Game 1 is a $2,500 fine and no suspension.

The NHL is guilty, once again, of possessing no spine.

Second that motion.

I don’t hate Weber.  I’d welcome him to Detroit.  I hate Shanahan, Bettman, and those clowns at NBC who condone his actions without much a blink.  The BS is visible from from the friggen people mover.  How can you honestly not see this as part of the bigger motive to promote small market teams such as Nashville.  Moreover, how does Hank not qualify for superstar treatment that bitch with the dirty sanchez staches receives?  It’s a joke really.  It’s sad that the league is stripped so bear and humiliated at a time so great for hockey.  Any hockey fan that says this is something that just needs to be glossed over is a fool.  National viewers far and wide are not surprised by the stupidity, recognizing this shouldn’t have gone unpunished.  Can we as fans, have any real impact?  Doubt it.

Either Shanarat was given specific guidance from the Commissioner’s office or he just turned coward as shit and is using the excuse of lack of injury as his rationale.  Extent of injury should have little to do with it when intent to injure was so clearly demonstrated.  Only by millimeters and luck did Zetterberg not suffer compressed or fractured vertebrae of the neck, so I guess that makes it okay.

Although the Wings since 1998 rarely go after retribution, don’t you think somebody will insist on dropping gloves tomorrow early in the game?  The options are only Abdelkader and Bertuzzi, and although Abby would be game for it it would be courting disaster to give up so much size to Weber.  Bertuzzi isn’t really an accomplished fighter but is big enough to grapple for a few seconds and pull Weber to the ice, which is the closest this generation of Wings can come to winning a fight.

If not, you can only look for occasional glancing blows against the boards and a couple of meaningless Why I Oughta’s.

And if anyone is going to do anything you do it early in the game tomorrow, as that is the first opportunity to respond.  You do not wait like a little bitch for Game 3 to get in front of a home crowd.

Shanny isn’t Fredo, he’s a post-electroshock Randle McMurphy.  Chief just put him out of his misery, and now he’s dead to us.  All that remains is to rip out that faucet-thingie, throw it thru the window, and run free.

Shanny tried to save hockey, but he just ended up becoming another stooge toady yes-man.

Spot-on ... couldn’t have said it better.  Bet-man is a freakin’ worm.  Period.

Anyone notice the officiating in the ‘09 finals? Same thing.  I went ballistic and went off on the commish (not that he would notice or care - I’m JUST a fan of the sport) both about that and the “deal with the devil” he struck with the VS. network providing MISERABLE, UNKNOWLEDGEABLE and ANNOYING exclusive coverage throughout the playoffs.  And that continues today.
