Updated below with an ethical dilemma…for some.
Via the National Sports Review,
In a stunning turn of events, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on Monday accepted the request of San Jose Sharks coach Todd McLellan to return to the Detroit Red Wings.
Unaware that the playoffs had even started, Bettman admitted that McLellan’s request was unprecedented and caught him off guard.
“This was a surprise,” Bettman said. “But in the end, the league determined that it would be best for the NHL if McLellan returned to a city where people actually care about the sport.”
I considered leaving the Sharks alone today. I did. But then I remembered Joe Thornton’s little yelp on the bench, “WE’RE the best team in the NHL.”
And then I rememberd I’d read this earlier this week…
Most Wings bloggers I know are relatively level-headed. It’s their readers (or the ones that post comments) that are the assholes.

That was me (the level-headed one) who deleted the name. But I’ll tell you (the assholes) that it’s a fairly reputable Shark blogger. So you tell me, am I being too rough on the Sharks?

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
