Even though the shots on goal after the first period read Detroit 21 Chicago 12, the Blackhawks looked like the better team and lead 2-1 after 20 minutes.
To me, the second period looked a lot like the first but without any scoring.
Early in th third period, Chicago scored to make it 3-1. The Wings started applying more pressure at that point but the Blackhawks scored on the power play to make it 4-1 with just under 13 minutes left.
Patrick Kane made it 5-1 with his 400th career goal and I started writing this recap.
Evgeny Svechnikov scored on the power play, his second goal in two games to make it 5-2 Chicago.
Soon thereafter, it was 6-2 Chicago and I resumed with the recap.
Another goal from the Blackhawks and Thomas Greiss shows his frustration by snapping his stick on the goal post and the the crossbar.
Final score Chicago 7 Detroit 2
