Online Sports Betting Is Now Legal In Michigan

Any plans to bet online now that it is legal in Michigan?

from Ryan Zuke of Mlive,

Consumers will have ample options to place their wagers once online casino gaming and sports betting launches in Michigan at noon Friday, Jan. 22.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board on Tuesday and Wednesday approved authorization for 10 total casinos and their platform providers to begin accepting wagers on Friday.

All 10 operators are licensed in at least one other state and are reputable, according to Steve Ruddock, analyst and content director at BettingUSA.com

“I think the reliability will be there across the board,” Ruddock told MLive in a phone interview. “Certain companies might have a little bit of a difference in their customer service, things like that. Other companies have a little bit of an advantage in the user experience of the mobile app. It’ll really depend on what the customer’s preferences are and what they find important.”

The last time I placed a sports bet was the 1985 World Series. Bet the under for the 1st game, lost.

Bet the under in games 2-4, lost.  Will never bet again on a sporting event.

Nope.  It would just take the fun out of it for me with hockey and football.  I enjoy watching them, it’s a hobby.  I don’t want to try to monetize that hobby.

Horse racing, sure - I’ll bet $25 throughout the day the one time I go to the track each year.  But I wouldn’t be watching horse racing otherwise.

I have been to Las Vegas numerous times for a work convention and enjoy watching games from the larger sports books where you could see 10 or 12 different events at once.  One of the more interesting years was when it coincided with the first round of the NCAAs.  It was nuts.  Last second meaningless shots would elicit exuberant cheers or painful shouts of anguish as the margin by Duke over Westchester Junior College of Springfield dropped below 28 as some benchrider banked in a layup at the buzzer.  I don’t know how addicted you have to be to believe you can with certainty wager on the half time spread or the game final over/under between Montana State and Purdue.

I have played some craps, scary enough, and blackjack, but would not bet on sports.  Betting the spread on NFL games is financial suicide.

But, you see, I got a system!
