In the midst of the love fest going on below, I thought it might be important to inject this little tidbit.
Peter Forsberg’s probably going to play tomorrow night. I have something to say about that development. First, here’s the facts as reported by our erstwhile Diggers.
Update from Centennial, Colorado, where the Avalanche just finished up practice: Peter Forsberg is a definite maybe for Game 3.
Forsberg, sidelined by a groin injury, skated on a line with Joe Sakic and Andrew Brunette.
Asked Monday if he was ready to go, Forsberg said “we’ll see tomorrow,” but added that he “felt great.”
Joel Quenneville said Forsberg “looked good,” in practice.
I’m not sure how Quenneville was able to catch a glimpse of Floppa. I’ve, personally, never stuck my head up my ass. But I’d think that the view from up there can’t be too good.
Coach Joel Quenneville confirmed that Jose Theodore will start in goal in Game 3 Tuesday, despite being pulled during the second period in each of the first two games.
Back to Floppa. Nik Kronwall laid the wood to nearly every player Bubba put on the ice. Much to the joy of our children, he left some marks. I enjoy cinnamon toast, but would give it up to see him knock Forsberg right the hell into next week. Obliterate him. Cleanly, of course. If not Kronner, then Drake.
But if not a big hit, then turn him into the pinwheel Joe Sakic became when he foolishly attempted to stop Zetterberg in Game 2. His groin/foot/spleen…woops, that’s gone..groin or foot, certainly can’t take too much lateral movement.
And look. I understand that a prolonged break between games leads to bad habits. But let’s not forget a key factor. Let’s not stray from the basics. Dive fans are being nice to you today because they’re tired of being reminded of the position they’re in. They are not your friends. They are evil and, for the most part, very stupid.
Keep the main thing the main thing.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
