But I’ll write one anyway, just for fun.

“Uh oh.”

Impressed with this comment over at AOL’s NHL Fan House.

One game for Pronger’s flagrant hit to the head? Didn’t he get one game in the Red Wings series and the Ducks still won that series, right? So what the NHL is saying is you did it last time Prongs, let’s see you do it again. The punishment is simply not stiff enough. The League is giving the absolute minimum penalty for what amounts to a player giving an intentional concussion to another player (since he lost conciousness I will call it a concussion, diagnosed or not). Should have been a minimum of two games since he got one game last time and this foul was worse in my opinion. Suspension for the rest of the series would not have been too severe based on prior conduct.

In what world is prior, very recent, misconduct not considered when handing out punishment?  Only ours.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
