In other news, the Wings started with 100/1 odds to win the Cup, they are now at 500/1.

Anyone willing to take that bet?  Is so, let me talk you out of it.

Everyone is talking about the Wings needing more scoring, but has anyone told this to Blashill?

“Hey, our best scorer is on the shelf, I’d better replace him with our fourth-line centre.”

Looking at the scores of late, I’d say the biggest problem we have is pucks going into our net. Scoring an extra goal or 2 won’t matter when the other team puts up a consistent 5 spot.  Someone has to chase down some of the Bertuzzi TOs.  He’s also our 6th leading goal scorer, despite playing only 18 games.

I don’t have issue with him there, you could maybe move Helm up there, but Helm is a better matchup on the 3rd pair.

Why not Zadina on the top line? I get they want to shelter him a bit, and Blash’s job is to ice the lineup he thinks has the best chance to win games. But this season is well lost, and Zadina is a top 6 winger of the future, why not let him play with talented linemates?

Because that would some sort of sense.

Not. The. F*cking. Point.

The point I was addressing is lack of scoring.

Period.

How is it humanly possible to not understand that?

Good question.

Another one: if not Zadina, why not AA on the top line?
Yet another one: if not Zadina or AA, why not Fabbri on the top line?

Or more simply: WHY ARE YOU REPLACING THE INJURED LEADING SCORER WITH MEDIOCRE FOURTH LINERS?

He was RGEP, but he doesn’t need to physically go, but does need to be recalled if they want him to play.

Ansar Khan of Mlive,

When or if Comrie gets into a game with the Red Wings remains to be seen. For now, he provides some much-needed goaltending depth in the organization.

It appears Comrie will remain with the Red Wings until Jimmy Howard returns from an apparent groin injury, which coach Jeff Blashill said is not long-term. The Red Wings reassigned Calvin Pickard to the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday….

He said he hasn’t been told what plans the team has for him

“I’m just going to go out to practice and try to be the best I can and get better every single day I step on the ice,” Comrie said.

And the point I was addressing was that scoring, while a problem, is not THE problem, what’s so hard for you to understand, I think I clearly pointed that out.

Your talking scoring, you know “Who” talks about scoring? Fanboys and the media who write for fanboys.

Contrast that “who” talks about how the wings can win a freaking game, which is lock things down defensively, win a 2-1 game, have more guys like Glenny do when Glenny does?  HOCKEY PLAYERS. The commentators that played the game, like Redmond, Murphy, Osgood, Bertuzzi, not HSJ and John Keeting, people who play the game know the lack of offensive talent this team has and what the best strategy is.

Blashill knows he doesn’t have nearly enough talent in that room to out skill any team on any night, if you claim to know as much about hockey as you spout about you would know it too. This team locks it down with their 3 AHL dman, and wins ugly or most nights it doesn’t win.

The idea to put a kid on a struggling team, in front of bad D and bad goaltending against the NHL’s best lines all night is just a fanboy xbox idea, the kid was just starting to solve the AHL, and you want him against the best defense pair each team has and force him to cover the best defensively? Yeah that’ll help him develop, reach the potential the team needs in the long term.

Is it humanly possible to understand that?
