Svechnikov, following a strong first pro season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, has struggled most of this season. He has seven goals and 14 assists in 49 games....
"I know Svech has played very well the last little bit," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. "I'm sure as the season goes along over the last 20 (games) I would foresee him getting an opportunity to show what he's about.
"He wasn't ready earlier in the year, he went through struggles, but that's OK, that's part of what life's about."
The 6-foot-6 Rasmussen is a center, but if he makes the Red Wings' roster in 2018-19 he will play at wing, like Dylan Larkin did his rookie year.
"I can only speak of Rass from what I saw in training camp and I thought he looks like a guy that can help our team," Blashill said. "He's a big body who can really add different versatilities, and he's an element."
