High Expectations For The Upcoming Week

There is no need to recap the game against the Pens yesterday.  All anyone seems to be talking about is the last 5 seconds of the game, anyway.  Enough of that.  The Wings and the 19 have a huge week ahead, and expectations are ridiculously high.

This Friday, the anniversary of the McCarty beatdown of LePuke, 100 of the 19 people who post here and their friends/family will be descending upon Hockeytown to attend the game against Pinky and the Wild.  It will be epic.  Several police departments have already been informed and are been putting their riot squads through drills to prepare for the anticipated insanity that H2H will cause.

Please continue to donate to the cause.  Follow this link to make a donation that will help Michigan’s Childrens Hospital.  Think of the children, and open your wallets if you can.  Between direct donations and the pledges at the various Wings blogs around the Gore, we may be raising enough money to build another hospital.  That probably isn’t true, but if someone would like to update the total in the comments section, I’d appreciate it.

Jennemy of the Skate has uber-stylish H2H apparel available here.  Buy some gear, and remember that while nudity is the preferred attire for posting at A2Y, for some reason JLA has higher expectations of us.

I know that I’ve been pushing for us to wear pimp hats at the event.  No one seems to be taking up the call, so it likely is not going to happen.  Don’t worry, wear anything you want, but realize that a Flock of Seagulls hairstyle will likely get you mocked almost as much as we mock Pinky.

Looking ahead, the Wings are facing the BBBBBBBBBBs tomorrow.  I’ve lost track about how bitter, brittle, bitchy, etc., the team is so I can never remember how many Bravos to use when making our Blues acronym.  Word on the street is they still suck, and their fans still hate us.  Which is why it will be even more fun to beat them and continue our winning ways.

Friday is the big game against the Wild.  Normally, no game against the Wild is noteworty, but this week we have hired the best coyotes available to smuggle our friend Herm(es) across the borders and into the safe confines of JLA for his first encounter with other Wings fans and his first ever live hockey game.  He has recorded a video message at the H2H blog.  Sources tell me he has disguised his identity to confuse any border patrol officers trying to stop him sneaking into the country.

We are all loooking forward to welcoming Brazil’s numero uno Wings fan to Detroit.  Anticipation is at an all-time high and I am hungover just thinking about what will happen that night.  Several generations of Red Wings fans will be in attendance, from those too young to drink, but do anyways, to one almost-dead pirate.  The Red Wings are expecting us, they have lined up great prizes and two restraining orders.  One is to protect Helm from Herm(es) and the other is to protect Karen Newman from RWBill.  How successful either restraining order is will depend upon how fast the security at JLA can intercept a fanatical stalker in full stride.

So get ready, bitches, the biggest collective effort in A2Y history is about to come together.  Stay tuned to A2Y and the H2H news blog for updates, bitches.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
