from Will Burchfield of 97.1 The Ticket,
"We’re in a transition, we all know it. I think the last two drafts have been very interesting for us. We have some good players, I saw it up at (training) camp now," said Zetterberg, who announced his retirement Friday in Traverse City, the same place where his Red Wings career began in 2002.
The rise of a new core was also evident over the past few seasons, Zetterberg said, in the likes of Dylan Larkin, Anthony Mantha and Andreas Athanasiou.
"We’re getting there, and I think this year there will be some new faces on the squad. I think we’re not that far off. That’s a good thing, but it’s going to take hard work, that’s for sure," Zetterberg said.
