GDT - Game #58:  Red Wings host Stars (7:30)

The Red Wings (38-17-2) pursuit of immortality continues tonight as they skate for 21 consecutive home wins against DAL (28-24-3).  DET have outscored opponents 81-30 during this run at the Joe, where they haven’t lost since Nov. 3 (4-1 to CGY).  Mule has 11 goals during the home win streak, accounting for half his team-high season total of 22.  Filppula has a goal and four assists in three games against the Stars this season, leading an offense that has scored 13 goals against DAL.

Babcock likes his team’s consistency?:  “I think this has been one of the most consistent teams I’ve ever coached as far as bringing an effort each and every day. “When we’ve lost it hasn’t been as bad. “This group has surpassed what I thought we were. We’re a better team than I thought we were and so we reset your bar and you keep pushing to be better.’’

I’d like his teams consistency if they could play a little better on the road, but that gripe is for another day.  Tonight is for the record books.  LGRW.

Tonight is for the record books.  LGRW.

Right you are, but, as much as I would like to have the record, it is not as important as the 2 points it will garner.  I have been recovering from a unusual migraine since Thursday nite so I haven’t been able to join in the fracas.

Fuch everything. That is how I will sum up this last kerfuffle among the 19. Everyone is right, everyone is wrong. Having it both ways.

Thanks OAkie.

Bitches.

Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

I would say it’s exactly as important as the two points, because in order to get the two points the Wings must set the record.

The other day, I made a post stating that if we set a record tonight, we deserved an asterisk.

But I woke up today with a big smile on my face, because we have an opportunity to rub the rest of the leagues nose in Red Wing excellence, just like a bad dog that pooped on the rug.

So I decided to stick that *asterisk* up my ass. Please enjoy that mental picture all day long.

See ya at the LB tonight.

Also, for all the bagging on Zetterberg, 43 points isn’t all that bad for being described as “unnoticeable,” “snake-bit,” “lacking in effort,” “hurting in confidence,” “comotose,” and “Whitney Houston.”

Thanks, Jeff.  Good to see your GDT today.

I’d like his teams consistency if they could play a little better on the road, but that gripe is for another day.

Indeed and I’m looking forward to that because sometimes, it’s way too easy to get comfortable at home especially when it’s the middle of the longest home stand all season.  I sense a bit of sluggishness tonight and I sure as hell hope it doesn’t take the sTards scoring first to make the Wings wake up.

BTW, if I see Master Chief start the Live Blog with a blackjack/Vegas reference, I’ll kick him in the shin.  That’s the easy way.

Been sayin that for a couple of weeks, followed by Babcock saying Zetterberg was the best forward on the recent road trip.  However, some people who own or visit a library with a computer have written that Z isn’t efforting, you know, same people that said the first place Red Wing players had tuned out their coach, so that’s obviously who you go with.

Mike Babcock doesn’t know what he’s talking about and Jonathan Ericsson is the next Nick Lidstrom, probably even be better than that because Lids isn’t physical enough.

Also, trade Hudler.
