from Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun,
THE BIG MATCHUP
Jacob Trouba vs Dylan Larkin
It’s a battle of University of Michigan Wolverines alumni, as one half of the Jets shutdown pairing looks to try and minimize the production of the Red Wings top scorer, who has 18 goals and 41 points in 45 games. Trouba recorded five points during his two prior home games, so he’s doing much more than just check this season.
Impressive rookie
The Red Wings feature a smooth-skating rookie defenceman in 2017 first-rounder Dennis Cholowski. Cholowski is among the rookie leaders on the back end with six goals and 15 points in 43 games while averaging nearly 19 minutes of ice time per game. The Red Wings should also get a boost with the return of Mike Green, who is back after missing 13 games with a foot injury. The Red Wings went 2-8-3 without Green in the lineup and he has 16 points in 23 games.
The Jets lost 3-2 last night in Minnesota to the Wild.
