Fixing The Front Office

04/11/2018 at 12:10pm EDT

from Craig Custance of The Athletic,

“Could we use another person that’s got that experience to join us?” Holland said. “Certainly that’s something I’m considering and thinking about.”

Holland didn’t specify in which area, outside of experience, he’s looking. And it’s a bit of a tricky situation. It’s fairly easy to take your former players and move them into the front office. It’s a bit of a gray area as to whether the Red Wings can try to poach talent from other organizations through a promotion in title....

“You have to bring in somebody you like and trust,” said the Western Conference executive. “You have to be a little bit careful there. Most guys won’t do it, but if you have a guy who has any inkling they can take the job, you can get in trouble in a hurry.”

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
