Fitzpatrick Breaks Attendance-Gate Wide Open

Now, we bring you the return of Jamie Fitzpatrick. Jamie, you may recall was mentioned several months ago after his misguided attack on the fans of Edmonton—a fan base, I might add, that proved to be worthy, respectable adversaries even as they were Punching Us In The Face last spring.

And a month or so after that?  Jamie, friend of the Wing fan, had this touch of genius regarding Nick Lidstrom.

The Detroit captain, Nicklas Lidstrom, is probably the league MVP so far (Though if I had a vote it wouldn’t go to him, simply because so much of what he does - breaking up chances; closing off promising rushes - makes the game less exciting.)

That statment may go down in history as one of the stupidest ever, to put it mildly.  A timeless piece of garbage.

And now?  Your boy Jamie gets even more creative

The Wings might want to reconsider the “Hockeytown” logo scripted at center ice. Some possible alternatives:

Hockeytown by Default When All Our Other Teams Suck
Win a Couple of Playoff Rounds and Maybe We’ll Talk Town
Too Many Soft Forwards Town
We’ve Got a Chance If Hasek Doesn’t Go Into a Sulk Town
It’s Not the Same Without Stevie Y Town
$77 for Standing Room Town

Wing haters…always present, but coming out of the woodwork this year.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
