I had to miss this one, looks like it was a great game. I love Mick’s call on the final goal

Mick: Datsyuk has been an issue all night.

All Nashville could do was debate, they didn’t have a clue how to handle him.

It’s great to have you bitches around, when game is not available live. It is so rock steady, night after night. Here’s my synopsis “watching” through the LB.

Page1> “Evening, bitches”, game starts
Page 2> “We suck”, “pwer play sucks”
Page 3> “Ericsson sucks, Kindl sucks worse”
Page 4 >“No he doesn’t”, “yes, he does, and you are an idiot”
Page 5>“We will never score a point again, EVER.”
Page 6>” WINGS WIN, we win. This team is awesome, and we will not lose at home until 2014”

Good job, 19!

Detroit made an offer for Pavel Kubina last night. Dude has a NTC and will send Yzerman a list of teams he’d be willing to play for.

As in every other horse we beat to death around here… it all depends on what the Wings give up to get him.  I’ll believe it when I see him skate out on the ice in a Wing uniform.

If Kubina has a heart for hockey Detroit will be on his list, if not his first choice. We know it, he knows it, Holland knows it and The Captain does too. I’m excited grin Wings know how to get the best out of vets. From another point of view, why would Holland bother to make an offer if he doesn’t expect success?

Just let me be a little bitch right here.  I mentioned last game, Wings have been getting some puck luck.  Joey Mac has been good, also been lucky.  We coulda shoulda been giving up a few more goals than we have.

This will correct itself, the Wings will lose some games, and then panic will set in.  A couple of folks will say some amazingly stupid things of a critical nature that are totally unfounded.  We know who they are and they can’t help themselves, we read the first one and then opt just to skip over their next posts.

Then the Wings will win again, and they’ll be looking for the bandwagon.

It is coming, it is inevitable.  Then the real season will start.

Every news piece about offering Kubina cites mlive, who cites “a source has confirmed”.

Looking up his cap hit of $3.8M, of which only a tiny portion would show up on the rest of the season team cap hit, his contract expires and is a UFA come July 1.  Worry about that later, it would be a fairly inexpensive pick up for a mature, yet not old, defenseman with size.  6-4 258.  I don’t know that much about him.

If he fits in he wouldn’t be too expensive to offer a longer term contract.  Play on a third pairing the rest of this season and playoffs, if we pick him up longer is very affordable insurance if Brad Stuart leaves for California, which I hope does not happen, and begins to build up the D if Lidstrom retires along with Stuart leaving. He’d then move up to a first or second D line pairing if he stays.

Another interesting thing while looking at TB, Vinny is being paid $10,000,000 a year for the rest of the decade, then has the Franzen kicker, terminating with a year or so at $1M, making a cap hit of $7.7 through 2020.

All speculation since the main source is mlive, but that is what we do this time of year, and even if true is only an offer, not a done deal.

Who’s luckier, Ian White for being picked up by the Wings, or the Wings for having Ian White join them?

What a colossal deal and investment by the Detroyet Red Wings, again one of the uncelebrated signings of last free agency with no headlines or fanfare.

55/59 games, 28 points and +29, tied for league best.  Geezo, genius signing.

Ola 19. Dangle is fuching amazing, but that’s not a secret. What’s this I hear about Kubina coming here?

I wouldn’t be against it, might be nice to have both a left and right shot from the point on the PP. But I would not feel at all comfortable with him even attempting to replace Disco Stu. He’s definitely lost a step since his heyday with TB in 2004.

And while on the topic, I could have sworn I read on here like a month ago the custody issue Stuart’s wife is having was currently being resolved? I know it may be wishful thinking, but I just keep hoping the issue will be settled by July, Stuart’s wife will win and then they’ll be able to move to Detroit and everyone lives happily ever after. I would completely understand if Stuart decides to sign with a California team to be closer to his family. If it does go that route though I really hope he signs with LA. I’d hate to see him in a Fuchs jersey, and in a Sharts jersey… I don’t even want to think about that.

Ever seen a 3-1 lead evaporate because your team quit going to the net and played prevent defense?  Yeah, that’s exactly what happened last night at the Wranglers game.  The tying goal looked a lot like the Joe’s lively boards.  Ugh…

But checking the Wings’ game on the big screen made my night all the better.  OMG.  We have now tied the split season consecutive home winning streak with the Bruins.  Given the way the LB went, I knew the game was going to be a full-on zebra suckage with Kevin Pollock - a Stephen Walkom ingenue - wearing the orange arm bars.

Onward, Wings.  The chums are coming in fast and hard Sunday afternoon (WHO THE FUCH schedules this shit???????????).  No way do we lose to Whorton and the chums.  No.Way.

There’s been a battle raging over at On the Forecheck about Suter getting undressed on that play. Seems half of them want him shipped out of town yesterday for a shitty attitude.  They say he’s made up his mind that he’s done with Nashville and isn’t trying out there.

I don’t skip J.J.

Ha!  I’m going to tell my wife somebody said that.

I’ve never seen anything like it:

A.  Pavel’s game winner is one,

B.  Watching the Flyers/Pens:  The Flyers give up two shorthanded goals on the same PK, and at least one was when Flyers had a two man advantage.  Unreal.

Can’t argue with that.

Trotz discussing Pavel’s game-winner:

“You’ve just got to manage the game. Fifteen seconds to go, the most dangerous guy on the ice. You knew that puck’s going to him somewhere. Just play him straight up. You’ve just got to be aware of where he is and be a little tighter to him. Haul him down. Do something.

Laughing at you.

Sorry Sorry, last one.
Network TV was allowed to put programming on for 3 1/2 hours of prime time then, so national TV programming went from 7:30 - 11:00 ET.  Congress pressured the FCC to change this to 3 hours of prime time programming, so nowadays national programming runs 8-11 ET.  The purpose of limiting live network hours was to promote “local programming”.  What local TV stations did with this time was merely play old, syndicated network shows to fill in the extra time. Reruns of Gilligan’s Island and I Dream of Jeannie were used everywhere.
