Looking back to October we had two teams with legitimate title hopes (the Wings, of course, and the Tigers), another giving us plenty of reason to be optimistic and one more that I was actually hoping would stay locked out forever.
Down went the Tigers. Drew Brees and a Detroit secondary with the hands of William Tell finished off the Lions today. The Pistons are back and none of you care, which makes you good Americans.
So, as it should be, that leaves the Wings.
And tonite’s matchup is relevant because one way or another it’s gonna happen again in May. Before the midget shrew hands over the Twelfth at the Joe in front of 20K plus 19 and the sad Pens, the manger baby’s Wings will have to get by baby brother. And that’s gonna be some series, sister.
So the preview part two continues this evening and for some reason Jim Fuching Howard played last night, pushing the Conk into a tight spot tonite.
And you can take that in any direction you want.
It’s a Live Blog, bitches.

Let’s face it… the Wings are a very good team… but not good enough to win the Cup as is.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what you’re useful for, Errorson. Just retrieve the icing calls.

You’ll get no argument from me on that. I’ve said it from day one of this season. A good team. A playoff team. But with this roster, not a Cup contender.

On top of a shitty defense by the Wings, Stuie is busted in the mouth again.

Pretty sure if your hand is over the puck and you move it from one place to another that’s textbook closing your hand on the puck.

The MO for teams with size and speed is to jump on the Wings now right at the faceoff - something they can’t figure out for themselves.

Way to go Flipper!

Its time for the Wings to give Howard/Conklin a firearm so they can make Hudler shoot the puck at gunpoint. He gave up three scoring chances in that PP.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
