from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
Johan Franzen rattled off a litany of goals before the season: Come to play every game, be strong mentally, be focused, use his size to get to the net, contribute offensively and get off to a good start.
So far, he can put a check next to each entry.
The Detroit Red Wings forward has five goals and 11 points in 10 games. He has scored a goal in three consecutive games and will take a five-game points streak into Sunday's game against the Montreal Canadiens at Joe Louis Arena (7 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit).
"It took him a little bit to get back, but obviously Mule had his legs going," coach Mike Babcock said following Friday's 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. "That's what he's got to do for us. When his legs get going he's an ultra-effective player. When he's standing around watching he's just like the rest of us, not quite as good.
"It takes you time when you've been injured, especially a leg injury."

Mike Boone of Hockey Inside/Out with a few notes on tonight's game in a post about the job Montreal GM Marc Bergevin has done and a recap on Montreal's win last night,
On Sunday night, your Montreal Canadiens ride their five-game winning streak into the Motor City.
They will play against a team assembled by one of the best – if not the absolute primo inter pares – general managers in the NHL.
Ken Holland – and Jim Devellano before him – runs a team that has made the playoffs for 23 consecutive seasons....
We’ll see Dustin Tokarski in nets Sunday night. In his first season as GM, Bergevin got Tokarski from Tampa Bay for goaltender Cedric Desjardins.
Tokarski was heroic in a losing playoff cause against the Rangers after Carey Price was injured last spring. To the surprise of some, the Canadiens preferred him to Peter Budaj as Price’s backup this season.
Tokarski is 2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .929 save percentage....
Heading into Ken Holland’s house, Marc Bergevin’s Montreal Canadiens are first in their division, first in the Eastern Conference and first in the NHL.

How about this for a special treat before the game starts... Some rare video but not sure how the music fits the scene.
No game notes available at this point, will post them if released soon.
