The Blues have finalized a deal for Doug Weight. A deal with Mike Kitchen is soon to be finalized. The Blues remain hot on Brendan Shanahan (to play with Weight) and Anson Carter.

Sources told Sportsnet Doug Weight will return to the St Louis Blues. The recent Stanley Cup champion has agreed to a two-year deal with St Louis at $3.5 million per season

Sydor Traded Back To Dallas

The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded defenceman Darryl Sydor to the Dallas Stars for a fourth-round choice in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Kings Sign McCauley

The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with unrestricted free agent forward Alyn McCauley. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Alyn is a solid, two-way player whose competitiveness and leadership abilities make him a good fit for our hockey club," Lombardi said. "I was impressed with how the Kings organization, Dean Lombardi and (coach) Marc Crawford in particular, pursued me," McCauley said. "The Kings have a real commitment to win and to win now. We will have a competitive club this year and I am looking forward to the start of the season."

Phoenix Signs Morrison

he Phoenix Coyotes have signed goaltender Mike Morrison to a one-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Last season, his first in the NHL, Morrison posted a record of 11-4-3 with a 2.95 goals against average and a .882 save percentage in 25 combined games with Edmonton and Ottawa.

Sillinger To Long Island
