Youth Best Served Cold

Well, the two young stud forwards we expected to lead the parade down Woodward in 30 Tuesdays or so?

Well, let's just hold off on that for a quick minute.

Flip Zabina is improving in Grand Rapids, and seeing him start the year down (across) there isn't a tremendous surprise.

Michael Rasmussen scratched after five games?

Not really a surprise either, but still...disappointing.

Now it's turning out that, for the time being, our best rookies of a significant crop are the defensemen, Cholowski and Sulak. I don't think anyone can argue that.

And that, the that that ended the last sentence, that that...is actually pretty damn encouraging.

What's not encouraging is that we are referring to two rookies as sole sources of encouragement on a winless Wing hockey team on the Ides of October.

That, my drunken friends, is disgusting.

But...we are who we thought we would be, really.

Cholowski's back tonight. The Big Kid sits. The smaller kid ripens.

And we have a long, long way to go before Jack and the Captain join us next year.

It's a Live Blog, bitches.

LGRW.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
