Your Options Are Red Or White

Yes, it is still summer but one area Detroit fans cannot debate, it is either red or white with the winged-wheel proudly displayed.

Meanwhile, other teams debate their slew of sweaters...

from Josh Schrock of NBCSports BayArea,

Editor's note: The Sharks have been in existence for 28 years and have worn a variety of jerseys in that span - teal, black and white. NBC Sports California ranked the five best sweaters since San Jose first took the ice in 1991. We continue with the third-best Sharks jersey: The current teal sweater.

When you think of the Sharks, one of the first few things that come to mind is the iconic logo and the crisp teal that has become synonymous with the franchise.

As we continue our jersey rankings series, we have reached No. 3 on our list of top five sweaters. Coming in at No. 3 is ...

*Drumroll*

The Sharks' current teal sweater.

Slightly redesigned when Adidas took over NHL jersey manufacturing prior to the 2017-18 season, the Sharks' did their best to preserve the feel of the teal jerseys while making a few slight modifications.

you can continue if you want but the question for you, should the Wings come out with a new sweater design?

I want our regular season jerseys to be left alone. I don’t mind doing a throwback or a new design for the Stadium Series or the Winter Classic.

Third jersey? Nah.

In fact, get rid of the white one because it looks like trash and just wear the red one all the time.

Nope.  It’s classic, it’s VERY recognizable even to non-hockey fans, and its simplicity is what makes it stand out.

It should not be altered or changed. The proportions are probably as close to perfect as possible, and the jersey has just the right amount of detail. The curve nameplate is a classy, distinguishable touch.

I usually prefer to wear the red jerseys… Mostly because I end up with mustard on my white ones whenever I wear them… ;(

Agree with that. Don’t touch the regular jerseys

It’s also what makes it so easy to identify both the numbers and the names. And that’s important when new fans are trying to figure out which players are on the ice.

Life is too full of “gimmicks” as it it. Leave the jerseys as they are.

Perfect as it is.

For any normal games - regular season, playoffs -
home and away, red and white.

Even people I know who don’t know or care about sports
comment that it’s a beautiful, classic-looking, unique,
distinctive design.

Every other team should be so lucky.

They’re not.

We are.

Leave it the hell alone.  That this should even BE a debate is laughable.

BTW, I have Yzerman whites from CCM because that’s the color of his sweater when he scored his historic Game 7 2OT GWG on Jon Casey and when he won his first Cup in 1997.  I like the red the most but I am a sentimental SOB.
