Yes…Live Blog It. But Don’t Watch This Game.  It Will Be Too Painful.

I don't know how we can do it.  Scientifically, it's probably impossible.  But one way or another? We need to Live Blog this game without...actually...watching...it.

You guys take days like this way too seriously.  Losses affect you in obscene ways, and usually the consequences are hygienic in nature.  And that's not good.  Today will be horrible.  Chicago is too good. They haven't lost in Detroit in 8 games.  They lead the league in scoring, defense, minor in possession offenses and specialty play.  They're going to win the Cup, the Jennings, the Clemente award.

The Wings have no chance.

So you can't watch it.  Don't even listen to it. Just comment when you feel a tingle.  Or don't comment at all.  Read something.  Write your congressman a ditty and tell him the Navy actually, you know, belongs at sea and it might be a good idea to, you know, get his fat ass back to Washington and send us there...to sea, that is. That's a sequestration reference, by the way.

But don't watch this shit show.  And a shit show it will be. Detroyet doesn't  have the firepower. Our young defense is just not stout enough. Our coach is overrated and their coach is a savant.

They have Hossa. We have Franzen.  Repeat that to yourself five times and then end it all.

The mountain is too steep.  The only thing the Wings possibly have going for them...

...is the fact that they simply win games like this.  They do and you know it.  You've been looking forward to this with calm confidence when all the smart kids say we should dread it.

You don't dread it.  Because you know.

Wings win. In regulation.  By two goals.

Forget what I said about not watching this. That was stupid. Watch this one.  It's a Live Blog bitches.

No more predictions from Mandingo allowed unless they’re DRW wins.

Good effort by the Wings.  Couple of brain farts and the price was paid.

I blame Babcock.  His line choices are brutal.  Yes the Wings are playing well and yes they are a better team now but, as someone else said, why put a plow on Secretariat when there are better choices.

Great Game? Jeez louise. A great game is a 60 minute effort, not 54 minutes. A great game is not losing focus in the last few minutes of a one goal game. This game could have been great but it SUCKED

Wings looking like a much better team of late.  Downside is they’ve played 1 or 2 more games than most everyone.  They’re only a few teams winning from dropping to 9-12.

It’s going to be like that until the end.

Just caught up again. Ah balls. Like stonehands said, This streak wont last into the playoffs and it will be sooooo coool when the Hawks have a cardioectomy. Hopefully, we will be the surgeons.

Feel free to overlook the two consecutive self inflicted penalties that cost the game.
That along with our coaches line combos are what cost us this game. Reality with no sugar coating.
Good teams dont lose their focus when needed the most.

Why on earth are you holding this team to the standard of a great team?  They aren’t a great team, they haven’t been a great team all year long.  They’re an average team that played well against a great team today.  That is all.

Report: What lockout? NHL expects $2.4 billion in revenue this season

This would translate to about a 30% increase in Hockey Related Revenue if extended over a full season over last season, or 72% of last years revenues in 50% of the time.

This Shitcago team is getting an obscene amount of breaks right now and this game was yet another example of that.  The Ericsson play was unfortunate—late in the game, choppy ice, looked like the puck just wouldn’t settle and he put it into the penalty bench which made the delay of game a borderline call that, frankly, a lot of linesmen would have let go at that point in a close game.  Also, let’s not forget, right after the game was tied, the Wings came took the puck up the ice and hit the goal post.

Both Shitcago goaltenders have played way over their heads during this streak.  Some of these crazy breaks will eventually start to go against them.  Their goaltending duo will come crashing back to earth.  And in the end this “streak” will prove to be an albatross and a curse that will leave them spent and broken.  Give us a few more healthy bodies and I’d love to be the team that sends them to the golf course in round one of the playoffs.

Yeah, I’m swaggering bitches!

No adversity what so ever for the Hawks this year so far.  Sure they’ve been listless in a few games and won, but nothing goes wrong when they’re listless.  No way Crawford and Emery keep these numbers going through the rest of the regular season and playoffs.  Injuries to important players (or any players at all) have been almost non-existent, or of the 1 or 2 game variety.  If you take away Montador and Olesz who have missed all year (and are they really missing anything without those two), I doubt the Hawks have more than a dozen man games lost this year.

Good for them banking all the points they can, but if I’m a fan of the Hawks I’d hope for them to start struggling now and get hit with a few injuries and get it out of the way now as opposed to the week before the playoffs start

I am holding this team to the same standard I hold my 11 years olds baseball team to.
Its called playing the game…. no excuses. Brain farts happen. Bad plays happen… you make enough of them and you lose plain and simple.
Fact of the matter is we played well but shat the bed when it mattered most today.
Our depleted roster is still full of professional athletes and the old expression of 90% of this game is 1/2 mental comes to mind.

Fuching Franzen.  He is, I think, the poster child of the Wings this season.

What I mean by that is this - - totally inconsistent.  Much like the rest of the team, and this game is a great example.  Mule, except for his turnovers, was invisible the 1st 20 minutes.  He played very well the rest of the game - actually looked like he gave fuch playing out there.

The team were the same way - - who the hell knows where they were the 1st period.  Played great the next 35.  Disappeared the last 10.

This game is a microcosm of the whole season.  Probably has a lot to do with a bunch of players in slots where they don’t quite belong.

How in the hell does Turnstile lead the team at +11?  HOW?

Frustrating as it may be there is no team in the NHL this year or any previous year that plays all 60 minutes with equal intensity.

Was this the only game of the season?  I knew it was shortened but I must have missed that.  Apparently there are no other games to win this year.  Today was it.
