Wings Can End Their Western Canada Swing In Style

Paul here for every other A2Y blogger.

Before we start the live blog, I suggest you rise and gentlemen please remove your hats.

Let's pay tribute the the Canadian National Anthem, sung at the last regular season game of the original Winnipeg Jets.

Now that I have your attention, we can now think about a western Canada road sweep, plus rejoice in not having to do it all over again this season.

Those much anticipated 7:00pm or 7:30pm starts are about to become the norm and since the Wings have six points on this swing, we now breathe a sigh of relief.

Turing our attention back to the Jets, who knows what Winnipeg team will show up.

The team is under pressure to start winning on a regular basis and let's hope it doesn't start until their next game.

It's a live blog b*@&##%!

The only question remaining is who will be the second and third stars. Howard already has locked up the number one star.

Detroit needs to be more patient with their breakouts, they get no support and end up just dumping it in for a turnover

Why couldnt Smith have fought Quincey and got rid of them both?

Quincey misplayed his man.  His being on the ice for goals against is becoming a trend.

Maybe Tooto starts the third period by having a go with Quincey. It would make his Mom proud.

To use a football analogy, they have no running game. How often do we see the wings skate the puck out of their own zone? Makes it awfully easy to team up on the forwards disrupting passes and momentum through the neutral zone.

I know the turnover was made at center ice but Quincey did not even make an effort to block the crossing pass, he just stood up right.

I’d love to get pissed at Quincey, but his level of play this game is pretty much just as lousy as most of the rest of the team minus Howard.  They have no business being tied the way they’re playing.  Giving up a ridiculous amount of shots and chances while generating almost no offense of their own.

Okay, a larger perspective is all we have to do is play one good final period On this four-game road trip and we can leave having won four straight. That’s all it takes.

That’s all.  It is there for the taking regardless of how poorly they played the first two periods.
