While talking movies, a KK member mentioned yesterday in one of the posts, Goalie- the movie on Terry Sawchuck is on CBC tomorrow night.

I checked out their programming for Saturday and in the 8pm ET timeslot it says Movie, same with the 10:30pm slot.

So that is what I know.

I’d like to check this out.  I’m not one to pay for a rental or go to the theater but maybe I’ll make an exception!

I would see this and see Red Army, as kind of complimentary stories.  If you are more in for the quasi fan-pic about how all these guys came to play for the Wings, then R5 is your movie.  If you are more into why they came to play the game they did, and how that style of play came to be, and if you want a sort of deep dive into Russian character in the body of Pappa Bear, then you want RA.  But you can enjoy both, don’t get me wrong.

I’ll wait for the DVD release (looks like it won’t even be on Blue-Ray? Which seems a weird choice).

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
