Stand By For The Trap

10/16/2015 at 6:30pm EDT

Not the defensive trap. Nobody does that anymore. Gary doesn't like it. I'm talking about a trap game and this is the very definition of one of those sticky little wickets.

Montreal awaits. Tomorrow night with all of Canada watching, except those throwing beer at babies in Toronto while their rent-a-team prances around the basepaths, the Wings will take on the Canadien(an)s.

Carey Price is undefeated in his last 79 starts. Montreal is loaded. The Forum (or whatever it is now) will be rocking in French AND English. It will be a nice little border war.

But that's tomorrow. Tonight, the Wings must face a bad Hurricane team from Gary's hockey hotbed and they must come out much better than last week down in Hickeytown.

Mule-less, Glenny-less, Helm-less and still minus-13. Precautionarily short-handed in most cases.

Except for Franzen. We may have seen the last of him and the chatter is trending toward the Cap boon that would result of his permanent absence. I, personally, think it 's a little early to be talking abou that but that's mainly because I feel a little sappy when it comes to Franzen. I like the guy. I like how he took Patrick Kane's mouthpiece out. I like how he shoots pucks hard some times. And I wish he was sticking around. The money thing will be there. I guess we'll be talking more and more about that.

But tonight, it's a Live Blog you bitches. A Friday night live blog which usually means cheap beer and childish antics.

LGRW.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
