Sorry Edzo…Wings Win

Ed Olczyk is not happy. Not one bit. Too many men on the ice, says he.  Sleep well Wing fans.

2:13-2:15 Is that 5 Hawks on the ice?

great catch.  the player coming off wasn’t even on the bench half of the ice when his replacement came out.

saying that the Hawk was interfered with by the Wing player coming off the bench is a joke.

Some hack named Jesse Rogers from the ESPN radio outlet in chicago was just on NHL Live and spent much of his time of course bitching, moaning and whining about the officiating last night.  He also took a moment in the middle of his rant to praise Quenneville for taking the high road and not blaming the officials.  WTF?  Seriously?  Did this guy even watch the game?  Q-ball was pissing himself jumping up and down and going apeshit all night long and after the game as well.

Seriously, it really was shitty officiating.  We saw clear cut penalties that weren’t called all night long.  The officiating was inconsistent and a constant source of embarassment to any credible professional sports league .  We get that too.  One team gloves a puck in the crease and we get a penalty shot, the other does it and—nothing.  Yep, we all saw that.  Both teams got away with moments of too many men, although Detroit did get called for it in the second period.  We get it.  NHL officiating ranges from inconsistent to just plain awful.

What most of us couldn’t handle last night was an OLN broadcast crew that only pointed out when the calls or lack thereof went against what I guess you would have to call “their team”.  NHL officiating—not very good.  We all get it.  If you don’t wanna mention it, then don’t mention it.  If you’re intent on making it the theme of your telecast however, then don’t cherry pick only the stuff that goes against your team.  Point out every damn instance of piss poor officiating or leave it the hell alone.  End of rant.

I love the reaction after the goal. “Wow.”

awood40 updated the description text on his 19 minute upload of last night’s game.  He writes the time in the vid and emphasizes Seabrook’s hand on the puck non-call in Crawford’s crease.

On Saturday, I shall try and get a douche canoe sign firmly planted above Pierre’s head. The only chance I might have is pregame, if my drunk ass can stumble in by that time. So watch the pregame bitches.
