So Far 4 In 2, Why Not 6 in 3?

Yes, the Wings have won their first two games of their western Canada road tour and play the final game tonight in Edmonton before taking a detour through Phoenix on Monday before returning to Detroit for a Wednesday game against these same Oilers.

Before this goes an futher, Paul here, assuming IwoCPO is still without web access. (If he does appear before the puck drops, well, you know what to do.)

You know the Oilers plan to pepper Conklin with shots so the first ten minutes of he game are important for the Wings to stick to their game plan.

Tight defense, take advantage of mistakes by the Oilers and head to Phoenix with a win, any way they can.

6 in 3 could turn in to 8 in 4, so let’s make sure the Wings have that chance.

It’s a Live Blog bit****!

So they aren’t going to score on a full 2 minute 5 on 3.  Figures.

Five on three looked just like the five on four has recently.  A few passes around the perimeter.  Some weak shots from the point.  Then out-worked, out-hustled to every loose puck and losing every single battle.  Pathetic.

Wingfan191's avatar

Wings don’t move on the powerplay anymore.  They set up in their spots and wait for the shot from the point to get a magical 1 in 30438509 chance deflection for a goal.  It’s sickening with all the talent they have that this is what they resort to now.

So, I wasn’t coming on here. I was watching the first five minutes and going to bed. It’s like 3.30am.

What the actual Fuch is going on? Trade Rumours? Putting the jeepers up people? Too many days off? Too much broom ball when what they really need is to be doing some actual work?

You give up four solid minutes of PP, including a 5 on 3? Can’t win a single face-off?

Also, did that just nix the Hemsky trade? Or if they can sew his head back on without it flapping about in the breeze?

You’d think that, but I seem to remember the Bruins’ PP in the playoffs last year totally redifining ineptitude.  As bad as it is right now, the Red Wing power play still hasn’t reached that level

We have a decent backup. His name is Joey MacDonald. What we need is a veteran AHL goalie.
