Two early goals by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2nd period cost the Wings.

Other than that, I feel the Wings controlled most of the game.

Goals and stats are below.

I liked that 3rd period PP line ... Bert AA Mantha Nyquist and Hronek.

Bert AA Mantha is going to be a 5 on 5 line sooner rather than later.

The first Montreal goal was another Keystone cops episode. Ericsson for a big guy looked soft as taffy on a hot summer day giving up that puck so easily. And howie should of been able to corral that puck. He has been good all season, but the last 5 games he has not looked solid at all.

The line change did them in on the second Habs goal.

And for those that say Happy To See you is a one trick pony on offense and that he only scores on the rush; here is two more goals to disprove that sad theory.  wink

No so much, who would center that line? We don’t need to try the AA at center experiment again, he’s obviously much more effective without that additional defensive responsibility.

He was poked checked, how does that equate to being soft or big? Its not like he was out-muscled in a board battle. If your going to place blame on a dman, the goal scorer was initially covered by Hronek, and he got free, but like you said, Howard can’t let that puck get through. Its as if he’s playing to not be traded or something of late.

When does the “store closing…. everything must go” sale begin??

There must be some interest in Nyquist, and I’m hearing Jensen’s name mentioned.

I have no problem with Jensen. He’s one of the more mobile and fairly reliable D-men on a AHL level defense, but he might bring a decent return.

I guess that is more fair, but then would Larkin be in the nursery with him? He’s one of the most poke checked players on our team, granted he’s pushing the rush more times than not, which is what Ericsson was doing, skating the puck up the ice through the neutral zone.
