Montreal scored twice in the first while the Wings had a limited amount of chances but either missed the net or were a half second late getting a shot off.

Robby Fabbri made it a one goal game in the second period but Montreal added a goal too and the period ended 3-1 Montreal.

Five minutes into period 3, Athanasiou once again made it a one goal game, then Green scored with just under 10 minutes left to to make it 3-3.

Then with just about five minutes left, Athanasiou scores on a great play and pass from Bertuzzi.

Wings win 4-3 and sweep the season series 4-0.
