Live Blogging Yet Another Humiliation Of Pinky And The Wild

The Wings are in Minnesota. The Tigers are in Texas. I’m on the road posting on a phone.
Wannabe Wild blogger, Pinky, is worried. Not worried that he only averages about 4 comments per post in the three years his highbrow blog has been spewing literary genius on the Gore, Pinky is worried that the Wild are about to get spanked by the Wings tonight and make life in Minnesota even more miserable than it already is.
Frankly, Pinky should be worried.
The Wings have looked good aside from some whiskey dick on the power play. It’s not that I’ve been watching, having missed every game so far due to work, there’s no fauxing way I’m going to be the gamewrecker tonight. However, using advanced statistical analysis, I predict a 19-1 victory tonight for the Wings. Rest assured the math is strong within me. I’m using the same cutting edge tools that allow a certain unnamed blogger to predict the League MVP one week into the season.
With the Tigers paw deep, and clinging onto their lives, in their series against Texas, attention will be divided tonight. It’s okay, the Hasek has been through enough playoff series that we take for granted the 19 will be saturated in various bodily fluids all night.
I will leave you to enjoy the game with an open bar and enough booze for any type of game, playoff or otherwise. Enjoy the game(s), 19, I’ll be doing my non-gamewrecker best to stay away. For now.
Let’s Go Red Wings!!!!!
Let’s Go Tigers!!!!!

It’s a contract year, and so far the Oompa Loompa is killing it. He should have a monster season. And hopefully a one year contract to show for it.

Thanks to an obscene schedule, it is another slow news day for the Wings beat writers, and resorting to typical lemming form:
(A) Detroit News: Ian White has been a low-key asset on Wings’ defense, Ted Kulfan
(B) Detroit Free Press: New Red Wings defenseman Ian White already scoring, setting up plays, Helene St. James
(C) MLive.com: Defenseman Ian White fits in nicely as Red Wings’ replacement for retired Brian Rafalski, Khan(!)

So everyone happened to land on Ian White on the same day?
Nice addition so far. Hats off tick tock, picked him up for less bucks than Big E, right?

Our ticket prices aren’t even in the top 10… how can we afford to skate such a skilled team?!?!?!... must be all our high end draft picks… oh wait…

Super awesome picture of the Minnesota Wild under the heading “Edmonton Oilers”. To be fair I can’t tell the difference either.

Not by much, but yes. Way more value per dollar so far.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
Good. There are a lot of new people around KK, and they don’t hate us enough. Yet.
