This is cute.
The Detroit Red Wings switched up small, skilled forward prospects on Tuesday, recalling Gustav Nyquist from the Grand Rapids Griffins and sending down Tomas Tatar to their AHL affiliate.
Deep Digger Captain Ansar Khan(!!!) offers nothing other than that, as in no quotes or commentary. But it's enough, really.
Is this franchise trying to prove that stupidity can be common? Is this some fairy tale I'm living through? Am I in Denver?
So...forget putting Tatar--arguably the most creative offensive player on the Wings the last month or so--on a line with Datsyuk. That's just crazy talk. You NEED Abdelkader on that line, Mike.
Logic. There's got to be some. We're just missing it. Emmerton's staying up. Tatar goes down. Abdelkader on a line with Datsyuk. Tatar goes down. 8 healthy defensemen with Fredo coming back soon to make 9...and Tatar goes down.
The team cannot score on the power play, Abdelkader still plays WITH DATSYUK, and Tatar goes down.
Trade deadline's coming up and our "big deal" will be Helm coming back. Money to spend, holes to fill...and a whole lot of jack shit to show for it. Everyone's talking about the need for a top four defenseman? Really? No. We don't need that.
We need a scorer, or we need a Datsyuk. Well, I mean, we have one. But we need one who's not being wasted. JFC. This is unbearable.
The dirty road beckons. It's filthy and twisty turny and the Wings can't score there, much less win. So what do we do? Send down Tatar.
Ready. Set. Vomit. Loudly. Violently. And not neatly.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
