Let’s Do This

Time to bring 'Hockey' back to this 'Town'.

It could be the start of something big tonight but no matter what, the rebuild is under way one way or another.

Below, find a primer for the NHL Draft Lottery if you need a refresher.

Bob McKenzie of TSN with his latest draft ranking in early April and Sam Cosentino of Sportsnet with the same.

Now it is your turn, comments are welcome and encouraged.

via the NHL PR department,

The 15 clubs that did not qualify for the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs – or the clubs that have acquired the first-round picks of those non-playoff clubs – will participate in the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery.

The allocation of odds for the 1st Lottery Draw of the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery is as follows:

 Non-Playoff Team

(Fewest Points to Most)              Odds

Colorado Avalanche (from OTT)   18.5%

Los Angeles Kings                         13.5%

New Jersey Devils                         11.5%

Detroit Red Wings                           9.5%

Buffalo Sabres                                 8.5%

New York Rangers                          7.5%

Edmonton Oilers                              6.5%

Anaheim Ducks                               6.0%

Vancouver Canucks                        5.0%

Philadelphia Flyers                          3.5%

Minnesota Wild                                3.0%

Chicago Blackhawks                       2.5%

Florida Panthers                              2.0%

Arizona Coyotes                              1.5%

Montreal Canadiens                        1.0%

The odds for the remaining clubs will increase on a proportionate basis for the 2nd Lottery Draw, based on which club wins the 1st Lottery Draw, and again for the 3rd Lottery Draw, based on which club wins the 2nd Lottery Draw.

The 12 clubs not selected in the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery will be assigned 2019 NHL Draft selections 4 through 15, in inverse order of regular-season points.

60% chance of 5 or 6, yes.

The odds of rolling a 7 in craps is 1/6, yet the acknowledged record for consecutive rolls without hitting 7 is 150, more than four hours of rolling.  The estimated table winnings was $180000 before she went seven out.

The odds of the favored team to get the first pick number is less than 1/5, but has drawn the number one pick 2 of the last 3 years.

So what?  I dunno.  You just can’t predict what will happen on one event, no matter the odds.  Detroit hasn’t had much luck, or any, moving up, but there’s no such thing as being overdue.

You may be correct. It seems there is always that “Coincidence” the Red Wings always seem to draft lower than they finish. angry

Went to Cancun 2 yrs ago and Southwest apparently dropped my clubs off the conveyor belt and it broke one one the wheels when it landed. It might be worth it.
