Were you scared this hockey season, 19? Did Jobu make you quiver in fear from the bad touch?
You weren’t alone. The fear went around.
No point mentioning those bats.
The Windsor Star’s Dave Waddell has this:
“A lot of things didn’t go right for us this year, injury-wise it was scary,” Wings coach Mike Babcock said. “Our big guys showed how much they cared. They stuck with it. It would’ve been easy to get derailed and we didn’t. Now we feel like we have a good team.
Now that we are in the playoffs, the real season has started for the Wings and the19. Now everyone is scared of the Red Wings.
Are you ready for the BJs? The Wings are. Even the Swedish Meatball of Confusion will be there.
Lilja is back and Lebda is being sent out to pasture. Look for Brett in a bottle of glue shortly. Made proudly in Michigan.
Lebda made me feel some fear especially earlier this season when he was teamed with Mebdeech. I’m glad Meech did well as a winger. It almost made me forget the Mebdeech-induced bats that were giving me seizures a few months ago.
Fear is the theme this season. The Wings have stared it down and made the stress into something positive. While fear caused the 19 to paint the walls of the Hasek in horrifying new colours of body fluids, the Wings used fear to their advantage.
Lidstrom said, aside from getting healthy, what turned things around for Detroit was fear.
“Getting healthy guys back helped, but we realized we had to win games,” Lidstrom said. “Desperation came out in our team.
“We needed points and .500 hockey wasn’t going to cut it for us. Just playing with that desperation has really helped us.”
Desperation, bitches, has set us free. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a team in the depths of an Mebdeech binge. We were in a dark place but now we have risen like a phoenix from the ashes. The Wings are harder, better, faster, stronger.
Tonight, it’s Columbus. Next week the season begins anew.
Let’s Go Red Wings!!!!!

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
