It’s Easy As 1, 2, 3

IwoCPO must be without an internet connection, so here I am, Paul, filling in again.

The BJ’s will be on our mind for the next 51 hours or so but it really doesn’t matter who the opponent is, what does matter is the play of the Wings.

Saturday’s win against Carolina was a start, but the Wings need to play much better.

#1 on the agenda, get the power play fixed.

#2, cut-down the defensive turnovers.

#3, play a full 60 minute game.

Follow those points and not only will it mean success, it will also allow Detroit fans to be at ease and enjoy the Live Blog bi*****.

Hang in there Cal.
Great game. Lets get a carbon copy on Wednesday.
Nike on NHL network now. He sounds like he never spent a day outside the US.
Have a great night my fake friends.

If Babs breaks up the Magical Bombastic Elixir (faux if I know…you come up with a better name) line to put the Moose back in…

Well, he’s gonna do it already so go figure when it’s obvious Franzen should be in Cleary’s spot on the 3rd line.

I’m really hoping that’s what happens. I like Buckets as much as the next guy, but as of right now, I think Nyquist brings more to the table than him, and to sit Nyquist just because he’s the new rookie would be insane IMO. Put Mule on the 3rd line with Miller and Gator/God when he returns, and see if they can pick back up their chemistry they had going. It’s always nice to have three lines scoring goals consistently.

*knocks on wood*

i’m just sayin. If the BBBB’s go 3-3 for their final six games, with one W being a shootout W, and the good guys run the table in regulation/overtime, guess who gets the division? Yes I know it’s an extreme longshot, but I’m not giving up on the division.

@ CBJ Mar. 28
vs NSH Mar. 30
vs FLA Apr. 1
@ STL Apr. 4
vs NJD Apr. 5
vs CHI Apr. 7

The Red Wings team that showed up tonight WILL do exactly what I’d like. But it has to be that team. Although looking at the BBBB’s remaining schedule, the Wings would definitely have to get lucky.

vs NSH Mar. 27
@ CHI Mar. 29
vs CBJ Mar. 31
vs DET Apr. 4
vs PHX Apr. 6
@ DAL Apr. 7

I only see two potential losses in there, to the Preds tomorrow night and of course the Wings on April 4. Although CHI, PHX and DAL are all fighting for positioning/their playoff lives, so they wouldn’t be easy Ws by any stretch.

All I’m saying is it can still happen.

Put down the crack pipe, my friend.  We just witnessed the month from hell.  DET ekes out a win against CAR and smokes the worst team in the league.

It isn’t all firetrucks, hookers and cheddar just yet.  Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

I’m praying the Wings can hang on to 4th.

Here’s a nice little bit by Dan Rosen at Nhl.com:

Detroit became the sixth team to punch its ticket into the postseason with a 7-2 thrashing of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday at Joe Louis Arena. How did the Wings do it? We can think of at least six reasons, and they’re listed below:

1.  . . . “Lidstrom missed with a bone bruise in his ankle, but they’re 2-0 since he’s returned. Detroit is 43-18-3 with Lidstrom in the lineup and just 3-7-2 without him.

Big Eastern Conf game tonight head to head Washington v Buffalo, deadlocked in games played and points at 8 / 9.  Caps have tie breaker in ROW.

Then 8 pm NSV goes to STL to try and jump the Wings into 4th place.  Odd pulling for the Blues at home.
