It’s A Skate To The Throat Kind of Sunday

I’ve never tried to hide what Game 7s do to me. They make me a wreck, nothing but a shadow of the calm, composed, well adjusted adult I am on most other days.
For fans of other teams, with expectations much lower than ours? A Game 7 can mean opportunity, a new way of life even. If they win, oh the rapture.
Us? All we imagine is horror.
So let’s avoid that shall we?
Let’s go ahead and press down. Slice the mother through and through. Skate to the throat. Press down for the sake of domestic animals from Michigan to Malibu.
13 to 12.
9 until Redemption begins.

Three of the Coyotes’ goals came off bad draws in the defensive zone. The Coyotes won 63 percent of the faceoffs while on the power play.

Was totally going to post that until AAA posted the UHF clip, at which point I felt like I’d already been trumped.

Been a long time since I posted, but I’m still sporting my Red Wings stuff and telling everyone in central Kentucky about my unabashed allegiance.
As I see it, this series seems to feature two teams that are expert in imposing their system on their opponent. There’s no momentum from period to period because Phoenix and Detroit are both well coached and can both capitalize on very small mistakes by their opponent, and then dictate the style of play. When Detroit has their puck possession game going, the Coyotes have to work very hard to get the puck. When the Wings make mistakes, they have a hard time handling the Coyotes’ forecheck.
I think the first goal of the game tomorrow is key. I am hoping for a couple of fortunate bounces early for the Wings. I think Homer scores the first goal of the game, and if Jimmah stops the first three shots he sees, he get into the groove. Especially if he makes a jaw-dropping stop in one of the Mange’s (awesome Primis) first shots, which seems likely, it would go a long way to making game 7 easier to take (during and afterwards).
And if Doan’s back in, Kronwall his friggin shoulder into next week. Tomorrow we escort ol’ Wile E. to the precipice blindfolded, tie a grand piano to his ass and kick him off. LGRW. That is all.

RW 1 seven minutes from touchdown at Sky Harbor.
I wonder if the Betty Ford Clinic has a program for addicted hockey fans?

No more pshops, no more skate to throat, no more theme songs, no more jersey number countdowns.
I just want to see 60 minutes of hard-nosed, puck-posession Red Wing hockey. If the Wings do that, then I (we) can exhale, relax, and get ready for the next round. If I see anything less, then I can get back to hobbies, friends and life a lot sooner than I thought. This isn’t a young team to be trifled with. There are a lot of vets in the Phoenix locker room for whom this may be their last or only chance for a playoff run. I’m just afraid it will come down to which team wants it more.
And the Wings are on the ground in Phoenix.

I just checked. They do not. Apparently, addicted hockey fans are all but impossible to cure. The customer service rep laughed when I inquired saying they have better luck curing drunk, chain-smoking, sex addicted crack whores than hockey fans.

Landed 25 minutes ago. Now we need an Automatic Vehicle Location device on the bus or whatever they take to the hotel to give 30 second updates on their location. The one I use on Karen’s Grand Voyager works well, and undetected.

What happened, Rummy? Did you drink all the profits?

It could be time to take a good look at our expectations rather than point fingers. The big red machine are reluctantly and gradually becoming victims of the salary cap. Not saying yesterday’s game was the norm, but looking over the past 2 seasons, an independent evaluation may conclude that the team is just short of the talent that fans are used to.

Yes, exactly what I wrote, or similar, earlier in the season. It didn’t happen overnight, but subtract from a franchise that once had a sure HOF playing on its 4th line…. Fedorov, Yzerman, Shanahan, Hull, Robitaille, and Larionov, each natural born finishers extraordinaire, replaced with Eaves, Abdulkader, D. Miller, Cleary, J. Will and an aging Bertuzzi, and a budding but unpolished Helm.
Plus in games 1 and 6 there were some fortuitous bounces for PHX. Can they win 3 on the road in the same series? Damned difficult. How often does that happen? Someone needs to look that up ( I’m looking at you, Jeff OK )!

Scurrilous comments abound! Are we not Doctors? Aide was provided, peoples lives were changed, and, okay, a few livers were damaged. It’s science man, science!
On another note…Good Doan interview on the Emperor’s page.
On yet another note….RWBill…it’s a Strahotski night out here…Karen’s in Phoenix, no one will know.

He never has posted after a defeat, And he hasn’t posted after wins either these last few months. He has been quite busy with his day job protecting our collective asses. Though he is back in port, he is still aboard ship and unable to do much posting other than the last few LB’s.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA…..

And Halak played like an incarnation of Roy in MTL. What more can you ask for.

Sabres just got absolutely fuched by the refs - they score to make it 4-3 with a minute left, they pull Miller, 30 seconds left, Bruins clearly ice the puck, refs wave it off for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
