Paul here in for IwoCPO who told me he probably would not have internet access until Monday.
The Wings face the Sharks today, who are in the midst of a nine game road trip, (they are 1-2-1 so far) and won’t be back home until February 28th.
We do know San Jose has had Detroit’s number lately and the Wings sure want to get that fixed before the playofffs start.
I look for a high scoring game and have a gut feeling Detroit comes out on top.
Detroit will depend on Lidstrom today for their 23 (2+3=5 or TPH) consecutive home win.
It’s a Live Blog, bit****.

Power play = lose the draw and the other team immediately clears the puck. It’s been the recipe all season.

A rare opportunity against a PK that’s actually WORSE than Detroit’s. But they generate nothing of course.

Come on Wings!!!!!

Jeebus, Wings. You can play puck possession all you want but you still gotta score goals.

Some early afternoon hockey for our pleasure, on Hockey Day in America.
I, my wife, and kids all pulled out their Red Wings sweaters today and wore them out this morning.
In related news, DET just got screwed out of a goal. This *is* a recording…

Terrible call but not at all surprising against the Sharks.
Posted by SolidTG7 on 02/19/12 at 04:14 PM ET

Posted by SYF from the Flood on 02/19/12 at 04:14 PM ET
WTF is Bertuzzi supposed to do? The Shark player had his legs behind Bert’s knees, he couldn’t do anything FFS.

Eh thanks Monkey. Just the snow OK?
Sure, sure, wink wink, nudge nudge.

George gave us the heads up on this earlier. Niemi is a flopper and a drama queen who gets these kinds of calls.

I wish we had some good intermission entertainment ???

Bob’s your uncle.

I’ve watched the replay 3 times and it looked like Couture made all the contact with Niemi not to mention him being the reason Bert was even that close to the goalie anyway.

It’s Stephen Walkom - career Wings shafter. The guy absolutely hates the Wings.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
