Well, we can see Yzerman is going to do it his way, at his pace. Starting with No. 6 overall pick Moritz Seider, and into the second round, Yzerman making unorthodox, somewhat-off-the-radar choices for Wings. Interesting, to say the least.

Yzerman knows what all Wings fans know -- they desperately need defensemen. First two picks are big, puck-moving defensemen. There is a plan, obviously, unaffected by rankings and mock drafts.
